Collection agencies and debt collectors new job search portal reaches number three on many search engines!

In an industry plagued with complaints, law suits, and bad press, the collections business received a boost with http://www.collectionjobs.co/.  Collectionjobs.co is a new online search engine for the collections industry. A spokesperson for the company says that collection agencies will be able to be much more selective in the hiring process, and that right now in strained economic times, is the most important thing the industry can do. Often times collection agencies receive a large placement of credit card debt, and have to react quickly to the demands of their clients. By streamlining the entire collections industry to one job search portal, the company plans to have 90% of collection agencies and debt collectors utilizing their services. Right now the search engine is free to use for a limited time. “We felt that if really wanted to bring tremendous value to collection agencies and debt collectors, we would have to build the largest data base in the collections industry. By perfecting the technology behind the search engine, we are able to provide huge benefits for collection agencies and debt collectors through SEO techniques that in many categories we are already number one on . And that is not an easy process, especially since we have only been in business for a short time.”

The company also plans to build a social media room for debt collectors and collection agencies, and many other tools for the industry. Right now there are 865 jobs waiting for debt collectors. Collections agencies can post unlimited amounts of jobs for a limited time. Collection agencies will see how easy the site is to use, and can track individual clicks to their job postings. Debt collectors can be notified via email of job tracking services, in that if a collection agency posts a job within so many miles of the debt collector’s house. Debt collectors post their resume and have reminders about new jobs in the collections industry.

With traditional methods, collection agencies would post jobs on the big job boards, but the selection of qualified applicants was limited. Experts in the industry agree that with big job boards you get a larger pool of applicants, but most them do not have the related experience to the collections industry. Collection agencies typically hire more of the experience debt collectors because of the demanding industry and the turnover that goes with the industry. Many agree the biggest issue with running a collection agency is keeping debt collectors, and avoiding turnover. By utilizing collectionjobs.co, collection agencies are able to slow down the turnover process, and find better debt collectors. Collection agencies need to realize that being a debt collector is a hard job, and can be very stressful for debt collectors. Let’s face it, debt collectors not only have to help consumers figure out payment solutions conducive the their financial situation, but they could be sued at anytime, just for leaving a message on an answering machine, for a requesting a call back. An example of this would be, “Hello John. This is (debt collector). Can you please call me back at 555-555-5555. Thank you”.  Yes, a debt collector could be sued for that one phone call. The problem for collection agencies and debt collectors is that the laws are so different from state to state, and consistency with federal law varies. Collection agencies need to have a specific employee who is responsible for monitoring and training all debt collectors.

The most important thing collection agencies can do is make sure their debt collectors are compliant. That process involves having a solid training manual that covers every aspect of the collections industry and the collection agencies’ policies and procedures. If debt collectors have proper training from the start of their employment, and know that if the law is broken, they will be terminated immediately, the collections industry would not have the stigma it does. It is possible to operate a 100% compliant collection agency, and in fact most are. The problem for collection agencies is that the media takes one story and blows it way out of proportion to the industry. They find collection agencies and debt collectors in one company breaking the law, and exaggerate the entire business is corrupt and that’s just not the case. Reports show that the collections industry will grow by 19% over the next ten years. Currently there are over 400,000 debt collectors in the United States.   If the collections industry bands together now, they could change the entire perception of the collections industry in a very short time. This is not to say that collection agencies and debt collectors will be free of litigation, but many law suits under the previous perception, would be avoided. Often times consumers get a phone call from debt collectors and collection agencies, and see a story on T.V. on how to sue debt collectors. In fact all over the Internet there are ads on how to litigate a collection agency for receiving a phone call. Many consumer attorneys actually teach clients how to bait debt collectors into breaking the law. One such law firm in Minnesota teaches consumer attorneys how to go after agencies. Consumer attorneys often times coheres the consumer into saying they felt harassed and so forth. “Did you feel threatened Mr. consumer? Did you feel that they ever called to early or too late? Did you feel they raised their voice or sounded threatening?” The consumer attorney, at this point will send a demand for payment to the debt collector’s collection agency, and demand $10,000 for demand of payment. The agency has 2 choices, hire an attorney in the consumer’s state, and fight the law suit, or pay the $10,000 to the attorney. The consumer attorney keeps about half of the $10,000. If the collection agency decides to fight the demand, even though they may have the entire call recorded, and zero evidence of a violation is present, the cost to defend the law suit in Federal Court could be $20,000 to $50,000. So essentially, unless the entire industry is willing to commit to fight frivolous law suits this portion of the collections industry may never change. The only tool that collection agencies and debt collectors have is to train their employees and have a zero tolerance for law breakers. If the debt collector is a top performer, but violates the law, they must be fired. Collection agencies have to take this stance if the collections industry is going to withstand the regulations coming from government.   Minnesota senator Al Franken, is pushing to abolish many of the rights debt collectors and collection agencies have. The country has to understand that collection agencies and debt collectors help the economy. If banks and other business do not have the benefits of utilizing collection agencies, the amount of distressed debt in this country is going to get even worse.

If the government makes it impossible for collection agencies to stay in business,  400,000 debt collectors will be out of work, many collection agencies will go out of business. What will the banks do then? If consumers think that there is absolutely nothing that a bank or a collection agency can do, many more consumers would not pay their bills, and that could be the destruction of the entire collections and banking industry. Congress and law makers need to start listening to both sides of the debate. They also need to look at the volume and analytics related to collection agencies and debt collectors. If a police officer violates the law, and it’s aired on the news, people do not assume that all law enforcement officers break the law, but that’s not the case for collection agencies and debt collectors. Let one collection agency end up on the local news, and every news camera in the country is reporting how bad the business is.

The collections industry can fix most of the negative stigma surrounding the industry, but it is going to take unification of debt collectors and collection agencies. And that’s why www.collectionjobs.co is here. If everyone in the entire collections industry utilizes this search engine, staffing issues would be a thing of the past for collection agencies, and debt collectors would have their run of the best collection agencies to work at. Collection agencies and debt collectors need to start sharing best practices and be committed to 100% compliance across the board. If the government really wanted to help the collections industry, they would have a division of testing for all debt collectors and collection agencies. Make a test that every employee of the collection agency must take. The test could be as mandatory as a driving test. Make it unilateral and revamp the collection laws, and when the debt collector gets out of training they go to the state and pass their test. Do you know how many bad collectors this would relieve the business of, and how much more legitimacy this would bring to the collections industry. It’s only a thought but it could be effective for collection agencies and debt collectors in cleaning up the industry. It could create new jobs and the government would actually have a better grasp of the collections industry as a whole. The problem now is that every state has different laws pertaining to debt collectors and collection agencies. So for a company that is collecting nationally, the regulations can be almost impossible to keep up with. Debt collectors and collection agencies have an opportunity to turn the public perception into positive one of their business, but it is going to take time.  Until then build help build http://www.collectionjobs.co/  into the largest data base of collection agencies and debt collectors the world have ever seen.
